Deep Physics in Four Modules

Deep Physics is advanced physics training tailored for talented high schoolers: genuine intellectual challenge and real depth. See the Deep Physics overview for full program benefits and philosophy.

The spring and summer Core Theory and Practice programs form a unified curriculum. Together, the four modules cover core physics at an advanced level. Each module takes one week; sign up for any combination.

Spring

Mechanics

Kinematics, dynamics, conservation laws, rotational motion, statics, hydrostatics.

Summer

Thermodynamics

Kinetic molecular theory, laws of thermodynamics, heat engines, Carnot cycles.

Summer

Electricity & Magnetism

Electrostatics, direct current, magnetic field, electromagnetic induction.

Summer

Optics

Geometric and wave optics, optical instruments, interference, diffraction, polarization.

The specific list of topics covered in each module may be adjusted without notice.

Format and Schedule

Choose your week. Four options to match your school's spring break. Each week covers the full mechanics course, Monday through Friday.

Week 1

March 16–20

Week 2

March 23–27

Week 3

March 30 – April 3

Week 4

April 6–10

Morning: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (3 hours with break)
Lunch: 12:00 – 1:00 PM (on your own)
Afternoon: 1:00 – 4:00 PM (3 hours with break)

Lectures covering theory in depth, followed by problem-solving. Students may present their solutions on the board. Instructor guides, asks questions, addresses common errors.

Group size: Up to 12 students

Location: Princeton or Fair Lawn, NJ. Indicate your preferred city when signing up. We confirm location and language (English or Russian) once minimum enrollment is reached.

Prerequisites:

Readiness and genuine interest in physics.

  • Math: algebra, geometry, basic trigonometry
  • Physics: no prior knowledge required

Deep Physics is conceptually demanding — serious, deep, and rigorous. We designed it for students who want real challenge and are ready to work for it. Not everyone will be able to follow every session. That's normal, and it's part of why the program works.
